SOPs Standard Operating Procedures
An example of how a person may use the information to thrive that may seem to be somewhat useless to another person is SOPs ( Standard Operating Procedures ). SOPs are documents that businesses put in place to make sure products or services are delivered consistently to company standards. Depending on where you live, you may have walked into a 7Eleven convenient store and experienced the rotating hot dogs, the Big Slurpee drinks, and how every location seems to be nearly identical. That’s because the 7Eleven brand is a franchise. It is in their SOP that particular items must be sold and placed in a predetermined spot and positioned the exact same in every store.
Let’s step back a second, a franchise is an authorization granted by a government or company to an individual or group enabling them to carry out certain commercial activities. What that means is the 7Eleven brand will allow a person or group of people to open and operate their own 7Eleven location, of course by their (SOP).
Different companies and Industries have been creating SOPs for decades and the more technology grows the more the SOPs will change but some procedures need to be set in place before business even gets started. Big retail franchises are not the only industry that relies on SOP as a blueprint. Restaurants, dealerships, car washes, Realtors, and a lot more. So what’s stopping someone from starting a business that provides SOPs to new and existing businesses? Absolutely nothing, especially since a lot of SOPs can be found online for free or purchased for a reasonable price. Standard Operating Procedures can be broken down into segments and then distributed into stages. Like legal procedures for hiring new employees or training someone how to properly display products on the shelves. Offering similar training material to smaller businesses that larger corporations may use can really give a new company an edge and put you in a position of being the point person when it comes to finding and providing important information.
